Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Rang Royale (“Rang Royale”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit rangroyale.com or play the game (Rang Royale apps for phones are coming soon and will follow this same policy), how we use it, and the choices you have. Rang Royale is for players aged 18 and over. Rang Royale is operated from Sydney, Australia. If you have any questions, email us at rangroyale@gmail.com.

1. Information we collect

Account information

  • Email address and name (and the display name you choose) when you create an account.
  • Password, if you sign up with email. We only store a secure one-way hash, never the password itself.
  • Sign-in provider profile: if you sign in with Google (or another sign-in provider we offer), we receive your basic profile from that provider, such as your name, email address and profile picture. We do not receive your provider password, contacts, Drive, Gmail or any other Google data.
  • Age confirmation: the date you confirmed you are 18 or over.
  • Email verification codes we send you to confirm your address. These expire shortly after they are issued.

Gameplay information

  • Games played, wins, losses, level and experience, tricks won, mission progress, daily play streaks and the tables and private rooms you join.
  • A RANG ledger: a record of RANG added to or used from your account (for example starting RANG for new accounts, daily free RANG, match entries and match rewards).
  • Invites: if you invite a friend to a private room by email, we store that email address so we can send the invite and let them join.

Technical information and cookies

  • Sign-in session cookies that keep you signed in and protect sign-in requests. These are essential for the game to work.
  • Local storage in your browser for preferences such as sound settings and a pending room invite.
  • Basic server logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of the request) kept by our hosting providers for security and troubleshooting.
  • Advertising cookies set by Google and its partners, described in section 4.
  • Your browser's time zone, so reminder emails reach you in your evening, and your email choices (game reminders on or off, news and offers on or off) with the date and way you gave or withdrew consent.
  • Product analytics we run ourselves (no third-party analytics service): events such as sign-up, sign-in, match started or finished, invite created or accepted, mission claimed, the date you were last active, and how you found us (for example a utm_source or ref link parameter, kept in a first-party cookie for 30 days). We use these only in aggregate to understand and improve the game, and we never sell or share them.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and secure your account and sign you in.
  • To run games, private rooms, missions, leaderboards and your RANG balance.
  • To send account emails, such as verification codes and room invites you request.
  • To send game reminders (at most one a day and three a week; turn them off in Email settings or with the unsubscribe link in any reminder), and news and offers only if you opted in.
  • To keep the game fair, prevent abuse and fix problems.
  • To show advertising that helps keep Rang Royale free to play.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Service providers we use

  • Railway hosts our application and database. Servers may be located outside Australia (for example in Europe).
  • Cloudflare provides our domain name, network delivery and security protection.
  • Resend delivers our emails (verification codes and invites).
  • Google (and any other sign-in provider you choose) for sign-in, and Google for advertising.

These providers only process information as needed to provide their services to us. Because some of them operate overseas, your information may be stored or processed outside Australia.

4. Third-party advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads on Rang Royale. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. If you opt out, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalised.

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent before personalised ads or non-essential advertising cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time. If you do not consent, you may see non-personalised ads.

5. How long we keep information, and deleting your account

We keep your account and gameplay information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time on the website: sign in, open Profile, scroll to Delete account, type DELETE and confirm. Full steps are at rangroyale.com/account/delete. If you can’t sign in, email rangroyale@gmail.com from the address on your account and we will delete it within 30 days.

When you delete your account we immediately remove your email address, name and display name, password, profile picture, Google sign-in link, sessions (every device is signed out), verification codes, the invites you sent (including friends’ email addresses) and your RANG balance. Finished match results stay so other players’ history is correct, but your name is replaced with “Deleted player” and they are no longer linked to you. Analytics events and RANG history stay only in anonymous form. Server logs kept by our hosting providers expire on their own schedule.

6. Your choices and rights

  • You can update your display name and password from your profile.
  • You can turn game reminders and news emails on or off anytime under Email settings on your profile.
  • You can delete your account yourself from your profile (see section 5). You can also ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing rangroyale@gmail.com from the email address on your account. We will respond within 30 days.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to stay signed in.
  • If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, please contact us first. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

7. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and access controls to protect your information. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8. Age requirement

Rang Royale is only for people aged 18 and over. Everyone confirms they are 18 or older when they sign up (or the first time they sign in with Google), and the game is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, contact us at rangroyale@gmail.com and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “last updated” date above and, for significant changes, let signed-in players know in the game.
