About Rang Royale
Rang Royale brings Rang, the much-loved trick-taking card game also known as Court Piece, to your browser. It is the game many of us grew up playing with family and friends, and we wanted a fast, fair and good-looking way to play it online on any phone, tablet or computer.
What you can do
- Play the traditional rules in three modes: Classic, Hidden Rang and Blind Rang.
- Start a table instantly with Quick Play, or create a private room and invite friends by link.
- Complete daily missions, build a play streak and track your wins and level.
- Collect RANG, the free in-game currency used for match entries.
New to the game? Read How to Play for the full rules.
Fair and free to play
Rang Royale is free to play and supported by advertising. RANG is the free in-game currency for match entries and rewards, and diamonds, used for cosmetic card backs, come from exchanging RANG. Rang Royale is a skill card game for entertainment. The cards are shuffled fresh for every round, every table follows the same rules, and our Terms of Service ban cheating, collusion and automated play.
Why we made it
Rang is a game that depends on people. It needs exactly four players, and many of the people who grew up playing it now live in different cities or different countries. Rang Royale started as a way to keep those tables going: a partner across from you, a trump call that sets the tone of the round, and the race to seven tricks, without needing everyone in the same room. A private room and an invite link are enough to bring a family table back together.
We also wanted the game to be easy to learn. The table enforces the follow-suit rule, shows whose turn it is and keeps count of the tricks, so new players can concentrate on the decisions that make Rang interesting rather than on remembering every rule.
Learning resources
Alongside the game we publish free reading for anyone interested in Rang, whether or not they play here: a complete rules walkthrough, a comparison of the three modes, strategy guides on calling, partner play, defence, counting and the endgame, a short history of Rang and Court Piece and a glossary of the terms players use. We update them when our rules or features change.
Advertising
Ads help keep Rang Royale free. They appear only on our long-form reading pages, never on the card table during a match, and they never change how the game plays. Our Cookies & Ads page explains the details and your choices.
